Our Method
At Valley Creative Curb we use only the highest quality concrete to create professional layouts for your project.
We use standard concrete sand and add microfibers and plasticizer to increase the strength and smoothness of the concrete. As well, we air entrain our concrete to create small bubbles throughout to prevent cracking during the winter.
Then to colour, we add an integral colour mix to the concrete. For stamped curbs we use a release agent to provide a two tone colour contrast.
To create the curb we first dig a trench 2 inches deep and 8 inches wide. Then we put a layer of crusher dust in the trench. This provides a continuous, smooth, solid foundation for the curb to be placed on. The trench also allows the lower lip of the curb to line up to the edge of the grass to make mowing easier. We put the concrete through an extruder that shapes and places the curb. We are also the only company that has a weighted compression system that helps compact the concrete increasing its strength.
After the curb is in place we put two coats of semi-gloss sealer #15 to prevent colour loss. This generally lasts for 2 to 3 years after which we recommend adding a new coat of sealer.
There is also a 2 year unconditional guarantee on all residential yards and a limited guaranty on commercial projects.
